In December 2023, during a Bliss’ Fundraiser Partner, Yuuki Sasao-Ruef’s, visit to Oregon, USA, she expressed keen interest in inviting Bliss scholars for a cultural exchange. She extended this invitation as a reciprocal gesture for her insightful visit to the Philippines in December 2022. Enthralled by the idea, the Bliss leaders organized an application and deliberation process for three participants. After careful consideration, Merry, Regie, and Andre were selected for this exciting opportunity. Between April and May, Bliss funded their passport applications and the plethora of necessary documents, ensuring that the chosen scholars meet all requirements for the cultural visa application. Despite the initial visa application submitted on May 25 at Attic Tours in Mall of Asia requiring additional documentation, they promptly produced the requirements requested. They re-applied for the cultural exchange visa on June 1. They eagerly awaited for the results, hoping for a positive outcome to bring this cultural exchange to fruition. On Saturday, June 8, at 11 PM, Merry received the long-awaited notification for the passport pickup. The results of the application were not disclosed. Upon pick up on Monday, June 10, at 11 AM, the community was joyful at the cultural exchange visa approval and anticipation of this international opportunity. Bliss achieved a new milestone, and a whole world of opportunities will unfold in the future. Inspired by their success, Bliss reaffirmed their commitment to extend mentorship and support to individuals and nonprofits interested in similar cultural exchange initiatives. This dedication underscores their belief in the power of global understanding and collaboration, ensuring that such endeavors thrive in the future.

The event is finished.
